A dab refers to a small amount of cannabis concentrate used for vaporization, or the act of consuming concentrate via a dab rig.
In cannabis culture, a 'dab' refers both to a small unit of cannabis concentrate (typically 0.1–0.3 grams) and to the act of consuming concentrate by placing it on a heated surface (nail or banger) and inhaling the resulting vapor. The term has broad cultural adoption in cannabis communities and has become standard terminology in the concentrates market. Dabbing requires specialized equipment including a dab rig (water pipe with a nail or banger), a torch or electronic heater, and a dabber tool. The high potency of concentrates means that a single small dab can deliver doses equivalent to multiple inhalations of flower.
