Trim refers to the leaf and small bud material removed from cannabis flower during the manicuring process, often used for extracts or edibles.
Trim is the plant material removed from cannabis flower during the trimming (manicuring) process before sale. It includes fan leaves, sugar leaves (small leaves with trichomes growing from within the bud structure), and small underdeveloped buds. Trim contains lower cannabinoid concentrations than flower but retains enough trichome material to be commercially valuable as extraction feedstock for concentrates, edibles, tinctures, and distillates. 'Trim runs' produce lower-quality concentrate products compared to 'nug runs.' Managing trim inventory and extraction economics is an important consideration in cannabis cultivation and manufacturing operations.
