Cannabis ruderalis ist eine Unterart von Cannabis, die in Zentralasien heimisch ist und durch eine automatische Blüte basierend auf dem Alter statt auf dem Lichtzyklus gekennzeichnet ist.
Cannabis ruderalis wird als die dritte Unterart von Cannabis (neben Sativa und Indica) klassifiziert und stammt aus den rauen Klimata Zentralasiens, Russlands und Osteuropas. Im Gegensatz zu Indica und Sativa blühen Ruderalis-Pflanzen basierend auf ihrer Reife, anstatt auf den Fotoperioden, typischerweise innerhalb von 20 bis 30 Tagen nach der Keimung. Ruderalis-Pflanzen sind klein, robust und produzieren in ihrer ursprünglichen Form normalerweise niedrige Konzentrationen an Cannabinoiden. Ihr Merkmal der Selbstblüte wurde jedoch systematisch in kommerzielle Züchtungsprogramme für Cannabis eingeführt, um selbstblühende Hybride zu erschaffen, die die Potenz moderner Sorten mit der Bequemlichkeit und Schnelligkeit von Ruderalis-Gentik kombinieren.
