Vaporization
Category: Medical · Level: Beginner
Vaporization is a method of cannabis consumption that heats cannabis to temperatures that release cannabinoids and terpenes as vapor without combustion.
Vaporization (vaping) is a method of cannabinoid delivery that heats cannabis flower or concentrates to temperatures between 160–220°C, below the combustion threshold (~233°C). This produces an inhalable aerosol rather than smoke, reducing exposure to combustion byproducts such as tar, carbon monoxide, and carcinogens. Medical cannabis programs in multiple jurisdictions including Germany and Australia approve vaporization devices as the recommended administration route. Different temperatures volatilize different terpene and cannabinoid fractions, allowing users to customize their experience. Vape cartridges (pre-filled with distillate or oil) represent one of the largest cannabis product categories in regulated markets.
