Full-Spectrum

Category: Extraction & Processing · Level: Intermediate

Full-spectrum cannabis extract contains all naturally occurring cannabinoids, terpenes, and other plant compounds, including trace amounts of THC.

A full-spectrum extract preserves the complete chemical profile of the cannabis plant, including all cannabinoids (THC, CBD, CBG, CBC, CBN, etc.), terpenes, flavonoids, and fatty acids. The rationale for full-spectrum products is the 'entourage effect' — the theory that these compounds work synergistically to produce greater therapeutic benefit than isolated compounds alone. Full-spectrum hemp products contain legally permitted levels of THC (≤0.3%). Full-spectrum cannabis products may contain higher THC levels and are regulated as controlled substances in many jurisdictions.
